NOISE City Guide: 233 picks for Lansing's best places

11.08.2006, 23:13

Some of you may remember it in its previous incarnation as the NOISE Student Guide, created as a way to help welcome new students arriving on local campuses to the Lansing area.

But the more we thought about it, the more we realized that this roundup of more than 230 restaurants, bars, hangouts and stores throughout Lansing's many neighborhoods, Old Town, East Lansing, DeWitt, Grand Ledge, Haslett, Holt and Okemos was really something anyone could use, not just students.

Hence, the NOISE City Guide.

So what's new? Well, we added more than 70 places. We also added helpful icons to our restaurants (or "good eats") and hangouts listings that will let you know at a glance if the places are cash only, provide outdoor seating, have live music, serve alcohol, have wireless Internet and whether they are smoke-free or not.

If you pick up the print version, something else that's new is that the Guide is a pullout. This way you don't have to lug around a huge issue and fumble through the pages to find what you're looking for. Now it's a much handier reference guide that you can use throughout the year.

So pick up this year's guide this week at hundreds of places throughout the Lansing area or check it out at http://hub.lsj.com. And if you didn't get a copy or can't find one, call 702-4238 and we'll help you out.
